Below is the letter I sent to Little Tykes about their very ingenious, but very flawed Sand and Water Table I must say, I am very disappointed with your Sand and Water Table, and frankly can't believe Little Tykes would release such a poorly designed product that I believe will likely become a huge liability to you. First, it is nearly impossible to get the two halves together (the sand portion with the water portion) God forbid a single mother needs to assemble the product! I am a two thirty pound guy who works out four times a week, and I had trouble getting the “funky” hinge together. Of course, the hinge comes apart every time you close the toy. I left town for two weeks of which my daughter was unable to play with her favorite toy because my wife wasn’t strong enough to get the thing back together. Add to this the fact that the legs are wobbly and almost impossible to get straight. This will become a major concern to you when a child gets crashed by 200 lbs of sand! The plug on the water side leaks out the bottom, and even better, into the inner portion of the product meaning there is standing water around the toy no matter what you try to do to empty it. This is a West Nile Virus Nightmare not to mention how do you expect me to use it as a craft table when there is water inside the toy? I must say I was very excited about buying this product for my daughter as it is perfect for the Colorado climate, but your design has totally disappointed me. I may be one of the few to complain, but everyone I know who has this product feels exactly the same way! Last but not least, this piece of junk cost sixty bucks – A TOTAL RIP OFF!
