On 6/21, I placed my second order for five books from Discerning Reader. I received confirmation that the books would be shipped via Media Mail which I was told would take @ ten days. When the order had not arrived by 7/6, I checked my credit card statement and discovered that I had not been charged. I immediately cancelled the order.

On 7/15, Discerning Reader posted a charge to my credit card statement. I began a series of emails with the company about the order. The response was abusive. While I have not been the recepient of foul language, I have been treated with self-righteous contempt.

The desired outcome is two-fold. The first is an apology and the second is for Discerning Reader to be taken over by new mgmt. Neither is likely but I will not do business with someone who is so poor at customer service that he can not admit a mistake.

My advice to the general public is this: caveat emptor - let the buyer beware.
