When I first moved out to Arizona, I signed up for the Cox phone line and cable. It was all I could afford, and I planned on signing up for the high-speed internet when I could. During the time I had the phone line, I used a dial-up connection to use the internet. Spyware planted it's seed in my computer, and automatically dialed porn chat lines in the UK and Austria. To make these phone calls, Cox allowed a third-party long-distance carrier, and the charges totaled roughly $800 over the course of 2 months. I was not aware of this carrier, nor the international calls. Seriously, people... there is so much free porn on the internet... if I wanted to look at porn, I could get it for free. I don't because I think porn is disgusting, but you get the picture. Anyway, I spoke to the people at Cox and they were little to no help at all. They said the only solution would be to sign up for the high-speed internet while this was figured out, so that no further charges applied. Okay, I agreed. And I will say that their high-speed internet is a very good carrier for the web. BUT... these charges were put into dispute, and I had to fight to the death to get the charges removed- with NO success. Instead, they deemed the charges valid and posted $563 to my credit report! There was nothing I could do. Then AFTER posting it to my credit report, they had the nerve to call me 5 times a day to get payment.

I am now aware of the legal term for the third-party long-distance carrier switch. When it is done without one's consent, it is called slamming. It is illegal to do without my consent. I want the charges 100% removed (I am holding the cable box and remote as ransom) and I want it REMOVED FROM MY CREDIT REPORT. I am 19 years old and just beginning my life. I do not need a dent in my credit report just because Cox Communications decided to slam me. Please see that my demands are met.

Cox, look at it this way: If the charges are removed and justice is served, you might be able to earn my business again. That's another several decades of payment for all three of your services. As it stands right now, you will either have to eat a $563 charge, because I am definitely not paying it, or make thousands of dollars off of my fianc

Cox, one of your customer service reps has very poor communication skills. I called your customer service dept for about the 10th time you can go in and check it. I got my bill yesterday and called to let them know I was not going to pay the full 44.95 since my internet service has been off and on since Feb 8, that's when I made my first phone call letting them know I have a problem. Your customer service rep stated " I have to make sure you aren't LYING about not having service" this didn't sit well with me at all. She then came back on and stated that my first call about problems was 8 Feb (HELLO COX TODAY IS THE 1ST OF MARCH AND STILL DON'T HAVE IT FIXED) and no I'm not LYING. This is going to be my last month with you unless someone gets there ducks in order and a call from someone a little higher up the change for a we're sorry for poor commication skills our rep has about stating we have to make sure your not lying. 24/7 I don't think so. One of your Techs came out last week and stated that my signal was a -8 when it's suppose to be a +10. As of today it's still not working right. Please fix the thing. If I was that late with a payment you would cut my service off. Yes you did pro rate my bill to 11.99 which I paid today and I think that was too much for the poor service I've had since 8 Feb 2009
