E. Burnham Cosmetic Company / Supposed free sample

It has come to my knowledge that my mother has been receiving collection letters from RMCB (Retrieval Masters Collection Bureau, Inc. 2269 South Saw Mill River Road, Building 3, Elmsford, New York 10523) after receiving a "free sample" of face cream from the E. Burnham Cosmetic Company. She stated that after trying this product she decided not to purchase it and wrote to this company stating such. She is now receiving letters from the above-mentioned company stating that she has a "past-due" account of $26.95, who are also threatening "additional collection efforts".

I have tried contacting this company by phone, never to get a "human" on the line only a voice - and never fully being able to get answers to the questions that I was looking for. I have also Emailed this company regarding her situation but have yet to receive a reply.

My mother is 83 years old and does not understand why she is receiving these "threatening" letters. She has always paid her bills in good faith and is worried about being turned over to a "collection agency".

I think that this is a despicable tactic, and one that should be checked into. I do not intend on paying this debt for my Mother, and I have cautioned her on "ordering" products through the mail/from the TV/or over the phone for exactly the above-mentioned reasons.

Sincerely
