Regarding Toshiba tvs being sold in India
This is what happens when a good company (Toshiba) depends on a company (Videocon) which doesn't know how to treat its customers. I bought a 14" ctv for my son. The second day I complained about a patch. Thinking it as a magnetic problem, the complain is solved. Within warranty period, on complaining the same problem, I'm informed that the picture tube is faulty. After 60 days, the company arranges for a cpt. but on seeing the problem still there, the company changes at least five components in front of me. Ultimately fixing magnetic patches behind the tube, they tell me to take it back. On my refusal, they finally get the permission to give me a brand new tv.
This complete episode takes over 100 days! I bring the so called brand new tv. To my surprise, I find that the brand new tv was older than the one I had, and giving problems. I take it back to the service centre the third day. They agree there was a minor problem, keep the set for 2 days, and tell me to take it back.
I refused this time, as the treatment given to me was not expected from Toshiba. Also, I insisted that if they were so very much interested in giving me a brand new tv, they should give me a choice and make me get a Toshiba tv for a showroom -- as they had killed their trust themselves (& I was ready to pay any additional expense).
They tried to put pressure on me; sent their persons to persuade me through my family. Emails to senior exec. in aurangabad only disheartened me. Also, no acknowledgement or any written document is given at any point by the service centre.
Can you believe, after being tortured for 120 days, I decided to gift the tv to the Delhi service centre. And look at these people, sixty days have passed without a word of thank you from them!
Dear Toshiba, u certainly have a wrong partner in India.
