I attempted to lease/buy a 2005 Ford Mustang and was quoted a price before going into deliberations with the upper management/terms and financing guys back in March of 2005. The number and terms that came back to me where grossly larger than what I had agreed upon with the sales guy Jeff and some guy approving the numbers above him.
I walked out upset and aggravated that I wasted almost 2 hours of my time. I recieved countless phone calls from the General Manager, and several other Sales managers for two weeks daily. I finally called them back and said, if I call you back it will be with a lower offer and to please stop calling. A month later I did just that, I called back and spoke to the original sales guy, Jeff who I gave my exact offer that I would spend and NOT A PENNY more. He ran it by management and I got a call back with a YES, to the terms as exactly what I asked for. I head straight down there with cash in hand ready to sign the papers, and then I find myself waiting for over a half hour to find out the original guy who upset me and jacked up the price on the 1st deal came to me and gave me the exact same figures that he gave me the first time I was in there. I just could not believe it. I cursed them out and walked out completely stunned that they can actually conduct business this way and still sell vehicles.
