(513) 772-7200 or 1-800-772-8818 About 2 1/2 to 3 years ago, I contacted Matchmaker International's local office here in Cincinnati.

I first met with an office rep to discuss basic info about myself, what I was looking for in a woman, etc.. The questions were very detailed, and the woman who interviewed me seemed very thorough. After the interview, she was quite enthusiastic with regard to finding a few good matches for me. At that point, we discussed fees based on number of matches. I remember telling her that the cost seemed quite expensive, even for the lowest fee. We continued to discuss what would be affordable to me, and the rep agreed to modify the cost. I believe I paid about $200-300 dollars via credit card. The waiting began, until I was finally contacted with about 4 matches in about 3 months time. This seemed reasonable to me. However, as the matches continued coming through the mail, there were several occasions where I would call the phone number provided, but would not get a response. I always followed up by calling the Matchmaker office, where they agreed to not count the nonresponsive matches against my contract. There was another occasion where I was matched with a woman who had a child. While I've dated women with children in the past, I made it clear in my initial interview that I wanted to avoid that situation with Matchmaker. After nearly a year, I did not receive the number of matches discussed when I first signed with Matchmaker. I called and left a message on the member's line to complain about the number of non-responsive matches I had received. My last message never got a response...and in fact, the matches stopped coming completely. After all this happened, I was more embarrassed than anything. This isn't something people would be comfortable sharing with family and friends. Not only had I not been matched with someone, but I also felt jipped out of a lot of money. At this point, I'm guessing there's some sort of time limit on submitting info for an investigation. Even so, I'm mainly interested in passing this info on as a "buyer beware", to keep others from getting ripped off.

THIS COMPANY IS A FULL BLOWN SCAM. THEY BAIT PEOPLE IN WHO HAVE USED AN ONLINE DATING SITE, OR WENT TO ONE OF THE AREA WEBSITES (THERE ARE SIGNS POSTED IN THE GROUND) DEPENDING ON THE AREA YOU LIVE IN. ONCE THEY GET YOU IN THE DOOR THEY WILL TRY TO CHARGE YOU $2500 TO $10,000 FOR A MEMBERSHIP. YOU WILL NOT BE MATCHED WITH QUALITY PEOPLE AS THEY CLAIM, BUT RATHER THE SAME PEOPLE YOU COULD MATCH YOURSELF WITH. THESE PEOPLE ARE RUNNING THIS SCAM IN SEVERAL STATES AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS. THEY ARE A MEMBER OF THE BBB, WHOM THEY HAVE IN THEIR POCKET, ONCE A BBB COMPLAINT IS ESTABLISHED IT IS QUICKLY SWEPT UNDER THE RUG. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM OR YOU WILL BE OUT SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR NOTHING. THEY RUN CREDIT REPORTS ON YOU TO FIND OUT HOW MUCH YOU HAVE ON CREDIT CARDS THEN THEY WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH YOU HAVE IN CHECKING. ONCE THEY ESTABLISH YOUR �WORTH�, THEY WILL BADDGER YOU, CALL YOU NAMES, MAKE YOU FEEL SMALL, WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET YOU TO PAY THEM. AFTER YOU GET SUCKED IN THEY THEN CALL YOU BEFORE YOU GET THEIR BAD SERVICE TO �UP-GRADE� YOUR MEMBERSHIP FOR OF COURSE MORE MONEY. I HAVE INCLUDED THEIR UP-GRADE SCRIPT BELOW. LOU PARAVATE IS THE PRESIDENT OF THIS SCAM AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS. IF HE GETS RUN OUT OF A CITY HE RE-OPENS UNDER A DIFFERENT BUSINESS NAME.

I too have had issues with MMI - AFTER they called ME mutitlpe times harrasing me into joining their service, and "offering it at a reduced price" which still was pretty steep. They sent me 5 to 6 guys. One did call me and he wasn't at all what I had specfied, they then sent m the next 6 which NEVER called at all! NOT AT ALL! When I have sent emails and have complained about the not living up to THEIR END of the contract they have been completely unresponsive. In addition the financing portion of it has been a nightmare! The booklet was sent late, causing late fees (obviously MY fault!!!) and harrasing phone calls (AGAIN obviously MY fault!!) MMI At least the one in Michigan does not live up to any quality reputation. DON'T try them - at least if you do let the buyer beware. It's been a very, very bad expereince for me.

thank you for your word of warning but can you write me back? i went in tonite to meet with one of the representatives and after it was said and done she said it would be 1,900 dollars i guess at the time i was a little shocked and told her id be back tomorow with the money ,so i felt inclined to check the site out to find out what others were saying.and after stumbling on your coment ,i had to ask my self why they never explained really what i was getting and after seeing that you were being charged i was wondering why they were charging me so much can you answer what they charge and what you get for it .ive not found any imfo on there charges and now im feeling that once again im be taken advantage ove .They should have explained what and how much for different packages and let me decide instead i think now they were chargeing me for there biggest package can you help me by explaining what packages they have and about how much for each? i hope so i really apreciate you coment and hope youll let me know if any of the questions ive asked and thank you so much for sticking up for the ones that dont know any better meaning me your freind kim barnes

This seems to be fairly common with them. I paid over $1000 I live in Johnson City TN. I said no fat girls, smokers, or kids. I get a match every two or three months and generally she has at least one kids and weighs twice as much as me. Why can't they even get the basics right?
