On 12/08/2003, I purchased a whirlpool water heater from Lowe's in Alamogordo, NM. The water heater has a 7 year warranty on all parts. On 03/19/2005 the thermocouple had to be replaced. The repairman said that that year Whirlpool had put out many defective water heater and replacment on the part was made good though Lowes, after approval from the company.

It cost us $128.55 for the service call, which I feel the company should reimburse me. At this rate for every service call within the next seven years I may be better off buying a brand new heater, and you can be it won't be a whirlpool. I have contacted both whirlpool and Lowes, with no satisfaction to my complaint.

Don't feel bad. I bought one of these water heaters, got the one with added warranty. "The additional warranty alone is worth the extra cost," it was explained.

It's a Saturday and I need a new Gas Control Valve which will be here on Tuesday. I should have taken a cold shower before I bought this 6-month old lemon.

We bought a whirlpool water heater from Lowe's about 4 months ago. The thermocoupler has already gone bad. Went to Lowe's to buy a replacement part, even though it is under warranty. Was told they do not carry replacement parts. We would need to call Whirlpool and have them sent to us. NO HOT WATER FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 4 DAYS!!! This is unacceptable. Had I known you couldn't buy replacement parts, we never would have bought this Lemon from Whirlpool. 50 years old and still learning.....
