Asurian - Cell Phone Insurance Asurian - Cell Phone Insurance
I purchased the cell phone insurance approximately 2 years ago when I bought my phone. About a month ago, my cell phone died on me (it stopped ringing or making any sounds whatsoever). I called Asurian and explained the situation. Since Id been diligently paying my insurance fees every month, I expected to finally make good on a claim.
They were very nice, and sent me a phone right away via DHL. The phone was not new, however. It came in a generic box, with no instruction manual. This should have been my first clue. This new phone they sent me lasted less than 2 days. On the second day, it stopped working completely. I wasnt able to turn the phone on. I called Asurian and told them the phone they sent me died within 48 hours. They said since the phone died (as opposed to being lost, stolen) it was a technical defect and I need to follow up with the manufacturer. Since I didnt purchase the phone, I had no receipt or any proof of purchase. I cant follow up with Samsung( the manufacturer of my phone). When I pointed this out, they said its Verizons responsibility (my carrier). I went into the Verizon store, and with a Verizon technician we called Asurian. At this point, Asurian said they will send me another phone, but only after they confirm I had sent my phone back to them.
They said they will send me a DHL slip, which I should use to ship the phone back to them. Once the DHL tracking number was in their system, they would send me my new phone. It has now been 4 days since they promised me this, and still no DHL slip. I got rid of my land line, and depend on my cell phone completely. It has been a major inconvenience and disruption not having a phone. And after steadily paying my insurance fees, I am upset that this insurance company is giving me the runaround, and basically trying to scam me. Bottom line. Ausurian is a completely incompetent, unethical scammer. Do NOT give them any money. They will not hold up their end of the bargain. I payed the deductible and she had no problems with the phone, however, I also lost my phone two months later and ordered one from asurian again. This time my phone came with a cracked screen and keys on the qrty keyboard were not funtioning. I called them and they told me that they would nextday another phone to me. I am waiting on that phone to arrive tomorrow. Yhe person told me to send them the other phone after I received the new one. I guess its all in the person on the other end of the phone what you get and how your treated. This was my fight with Asurian today. They sent me a defected phone and then expect me to send it back to them before receiving a replacement. This means that I have to be without a cellphone for two day and lose business. I have been trying to get this resolved for a week now and all they've tone is managed to steel my money, give me the run around, and upset me. I wish there was a way to file a complaint with the BBB. I pay my insurance every month and I PAID for the replacement phone and it comes defected. What type of business is this and why are they still running. I wish more people new about their scam so they would stop using them. I paid more for the brand I got and did not want the other. They are comparing apples and oranges when they say one brand is comparable in value to another. This makes no sence. I filed a better business complaint and had a new phone that was the same brand within two weeks!!!!
