Dear Sir/Madam, I have had NTL as my digital cable and phone service provider for almost 3 years now (Address: 36 Becketts Avenue, St.Albans AL3 5RU; Phone account number 13598183; Telephone number 01727753762; Digital cable account number 51919483). My home phone line has been dead now for the past 5 weeks despite repeated complaints to NTL (4 calls to NTL customer services at an average of 45 minutes per call, and one letter dated 25/08/2004 sent by first class mail - I also tried sending them an e-mail from their web-site but it does not work!).

 

Sadly, my complaints seem to have been ignored and I have not heard from NTL or had any of the problems with NTL services resolved. When I called the customer services for the third time two weeks ago, the representative actually denied that anyone had ever complained regarding my phone line not working, since there was no record of such a complaint in my account! He then proceeded to tell me that the first available repair technician would be for Monday, the 6th of September, 2004 and that too any time between 8am - 12pm and that I was supposed to wait at home for the technician! Anyway, on September 6, 2004, I took a day off from work and waited from 8am to 2pm at home for the NTL phone repair technician to show up, but in vain. Nobody showed up and when I called NTL customer services again (it took me an hour to get through this time!) to find out what was going on, I was told once again that there is no record of any complaints made regarding my dead phone line and there was no service technician booked to come to my house that day at all! So, I lost a day's worth of work and wages for no reason!

 

Every time I call or write to them, they just ignore all my complaints! I have seen better customer service as well as prompt restoration of faulty phone services in third word countries! I am thoroughly disgusted by the manner in which NTL has handled my complaints so far, with utter disregard of the loss of my precious time.

 

Because of the nature of my work, it is essential that I have a working phone line at home. Hence, I implore you to do something immediately to facilitate the restoration of my home phone services and get NTL to reimburse me for the period where there was loss of my phone service and compensate me for my lost time and all the harassment and stress caused.
