PriceLine.com -- An ugly experience from Priceline.com and their cancellation policy. (They do not have one!) On September 6th, 2004, I tried to plan for my New York vacation and decided to give Priceline.com a shot. I was using multiple browsers and somehow on their end the choice information got mixed and I ended up with a hotel that I would not prefer otherwise. As you may guess, no refund, cancel or exchange whatsoever. I included the details at the end, but bottom line (or PriceLine): Just pay the bill and shut up! I object this policy because they do not give an overview of the item you are getting and if you feel uncomfortable with it, it is too late because they already charged your card and they even find the right to be rude. I made a search on internet and found out that they have been kicked out from Better Business Bureau and somehow taken back.
I cannot see how this company can be a Better Business Bureau member while they are offering some services that you dont even see your options and once you are uncomfortable with it you cannot even exchange to something else. I think what they are trying to accomplish is running an outlet store without an outlet label which is deceptive and unethical. DETAILS: I decided to call. First I spoke to a nice lady and explained the situation. She told me that hotel was charging them so (although there is a little change) I can talk to them. I thanked her and called the hotel. The hotel said that they are comfortable with the situation (even they did not receive the reservation yet since it has been less than 10 mins). Also they told me that priceline.com was the one who is charging our credit card so I need to talk to them. I called priceline.com again and talked to another nice lady (Emily), who cannot do more but read the scripts provided to them. I offered to increase my price, so they can at least change to another hotel that I believe I can enjoy more.
I got another piece of script. I wanted to talk to a supervisor so they transfer me to a travel agent as they call, a rude guy (Don) basically saying that they cannot do anything so if I do not have any other question just pay the bill and shut up. Giray A Giray
