I’ve found that this is a growing problem among cougars.

Dear complaints.com I bought a used 2000 mercury cougar in March of 2003 from Riess Ford in Marissa, Illinois. My car is not quite 4 years old (it was made in November of 2000) and does not have 49000 miles on it.

Since I have bought the car I have had nothing but problems with it. (cracked head, fuel pump replaced, oil leaks, ext. avout 4000 worth of work) I bought the extended warranty on it thank goodness. My problem with it now is that my sunroof frame broke on its own. I’ve found that this is a growing problem among cougars.

So here I sit with a broken sunroof that’s going to cost 1,100 dollars to fix. To make matters worse the part is on back order (from France) do to the amount of demand for the mercury cougar sunroof frames and they say it’s going to take at least 4 weeks to get.

My advice to people who want to buy a mercury cougar is not to do so. You will only have problems with it in the long run. Julie F
