I am writing this e-mail to make a complaint against Seamen's Furniture customer care services.

I have purchased a living room set that included a sofa, loveseat, two end tables, as well as a coffee table. when I purchased this lovely living room set back in May 2003 I also purchased an expansive extended warranty that guaranteed that my sofa and/or loveseat would be replace or repaired if any damages occurred.

 

When I noticed a tear located on one of my sofa's cushion's I called and made a claim. The company that Seamen's uses told me that they would send me a letter regarding our telephone conversation, and a service date within four to six weeks.

 

After two months I realized that I never received this letter therefore I called back to inquire and a customer care representative told me that there was never a claim made, I told her that I would like to make another claim, and she told me that they only make repairs that were done that day and so my claim was dismissed since this repair occurred two months ago.

 

I went to Seamen's furniture were I purchased my living room set and complained and they told me to call back and gave some advice as too what to say.

 

After several attempts with trying to get through to a customer repair service, I finally reached a representative, and this person told me that my original claim was made and placed into their computer system in August of 2003 and that they sent me a letter regarding my claim and since I never responded they closed my claim as policy requires, therefore I am not eligible for any repair work on my sofa.

 

After investing a lot of money into a warranty for my own protection Seamen's is telling me that I am not eligible for repairs on the small yet notable tear on my sofa's cushion, due to no fault of my own, this is unjustifiable.

 

Now I feel that there is nothing left for me to do except to purchase another living room set, in order to replace the one that I have which is only a year old, Unfair!!!!
