Smart Style, Wal-Mart, Seneca, S.C.
On August 08-2004 my wife went to Smart Style in Seneca, S.C. for a shampoo, cut, perm, dry & style. advertised for $34.95.
She was there for 3 hrs. mainly because the girl doing the work kept leaving for other reasons. she didn't leave the perm in long enough, only partially rinsed it out, did NOT cut it and she left with her hair dripping wet, and charged her $44.95!!!
My wife asked why it was higher than advertised, and was told "they didn't know"!!
when I got home that eve. my wife was at the point of tears. her hair looked like a 3 yr.old had been playing in it. I told her to go the next day and speak to the manager, and was told she wasn't available, and they "Don't care if we loose a customer, because we make soooo much money"!! I Told her to return the next day again and speak to the manager.
Again she was told that the manage was not there. so when I got home that eve. I called and asked to speak to the manager and was told that she was not there.I told the girl I was talking with to have the manager call me as soon as she came in.
NO CALL, the next eve. I called again and told the girl that if the manager did not call me I would be forced to put a "stop payment " on the check. she has never called and I "stopped payment" on the check.
a few days later my wife went to Wal-Mart to buy groceries, paid with a check which was declined for "non-sufficient funds". We HAD money in the bank and couldn't figure out why the check wouldn't clear.
the bank said we had sufficient funds and had no information on wht it was declined. a few days later we received a letter from a collection agency wanting twice the ammount of money for the check marked "non-sufficient funds" I carried the letter to my bank and they said that the check was marked"stop-Payment" and that they had tried to run it through again as a "debit" which as I understand is not legal.
They had also put a block on my account at the "national tele-check service" which wal-mart uses.
That's why our check was declined. My bank sent them a letter saying that the check was marked twice as "stop payment" and to remove the block on our account. well, a few weeks later we recieved a second letter saying that we owed a non-sufficient funds debt and that our account is still blocked!! so I suppose our next step is to see an attorney. I have NO intentions of paying thoes people for breaking the law.
And we have NO intentions of going back to Smart Style. I don't like giving my hard-earned money to a bunch of crooks: Thanks for letting me vent.
