Galleria out of DealPass.com Following a VistaPrint.com transaction, I received notice from a Galleria (service mark) company indicated that I had joined some entity of theirs saying, "UNLESS YOU CANCEL, YOUR CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT WILL BE CHARGED." They indicate in the notice that, "After a 030 day trial, Galleria will automatically charge the monthly membership fee to your credit card so long as you remain a member of Galleria. You may cancel at anytime and then no longer be billed. For your convenience, our toll-free number is listed within the Help section once you log in." SURPRISE! NO Help Section. The only contact information provided requires that you provide them with additional information including Home Address, etc.. If you sign in with the membership number provided, you go to a TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP AND MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT page with small type and an "I accept button" at the bottom of the page. Buried in number 10 of that agreement is the following: TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP. YOU MAY TERMINATE THIS AGREEMENT AND YOUR MEMBERSHIP AT ANY TIME BY CALLING US AT THE TOLL-FREE NUMBER LISTED ON YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD OR THE PROGRAM WEBSITE OR BY NOTIFYING US IN WRITING AT MEMBER SAVINGS, P.O. BOX 24311, OMAHA, NEBRASKA 68124-0311. No membership card - no telephone number. No program website number provided. Only the PO Box address with no company name. ********************************************************** Mailed request - no response. 2nd mailing going out today. They trade on people's inertia to not fight over a small monthly charge. That practice should be put to a stop! This is my first protest. It will not be the last. I do business on the Web and am ashamed to of being associated in any way with this kind of deceitful and fraudulent business practice. Thanks for listening, Val S Click this link to e-mail the above consumer: // From: Message Author (click here to email author) (no email address available) Date: Thursday, 30-Sep-04 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
