I was called and offered a credit card on my cell phone at work, with a limit of $2500 if I paid a one time fee of $339.00, I told the person that I would be going on vacation in 2 weeks and he said that it was perfect timing, that I would have the card in time for the vacation, so I decided to go for it. He also assured me that he would call me two day prior to Advantage Plus Travel taking the money out of my bank account but he did not.
So the time had come for me to take my vacation, and no card I called to get a recording about 4 different days I tried to call, but still the recording. On my vacation I rented a car, but when I tried to return it, they said I did not have enough money in my account which I should have. I called the company on my vacation explaining about my predicament, but they could have cared less, and refused to refund my money so I could pay for the rent a car, needless to say this was a nightmare. The person said she could not do anything since they were an answering company hired to take calls for Advantage Plus Travel.
I let the transaction go through and waited for 1 month, nothing came so I tried to call the company but got a recording saying to leave my name and contract number, I did, but no one called me back, so I called 3 days after I left the message, the woman said they got the payment and I should expect the package when their next mail batch goes out, so I asked her when It was going out but she did not know, Ok I let it go. 3 weeks went by and the package came.
Enclosed in the package was a vacation to any of the destination they specified on certain dates, and you had to have a credit card to take the trip. So then I called again, and told the person who answered the phone, hey I need a credit card to take advantage of this trip she said no problem that my card should arrive 3 weeks after I filled out the form and return it, I told her that that's cutting it close, because I cant use the vacation after July 30 if I don't reserve my spot. It's now September 29 I have no card and no vacation, I'm still trying to get in touch with someone from this company but I keep getting a recording.
Where is the agency that protects the little guy, I don't believe that law enforcement is just letting this just go on, and people who are trying to make ends meet are getting the raw deal. This has went on long enough this company has to be stopped before someone gets hurt from their behavior. I know that I have. And I'm looking for a lawyer to see if I have a case.
