I had reservations at the Fairfield Resorts Destin, FL on Sept 22- 25. Destin was hit hard by Hurricane Ivan. The Resort called me Monday 9/20 and cancelled my reservation. You could not get in or out of the resort as the road was covered by water.

 

I contacted Budget rental car & they did have cars damaged in the area. They were willing to work with me and give me some consideration towards a future trip, but as I had made my reservation through Priceline they said I had to deal with Priceline. When I called Priceline and explained the circumstances that I had no where to go down there, that Budget was willing to be flexible, Priceline refused to consider the Act of God that was Hurricane Ivan's destruction. I understand the terms I signed up for however, given the circumstances of Hurricane Ivan, I feel some flexibility ought to be allowed. Tourists were asked not to go into the storm ravaged areas to allow for clean-up. However, Priceline remained adamant. On Monday September 27, I received an e-mail survey request asking me to rate my Priceline experience. I will respond to the survey. I want them to know I will not use Priceline again. I plan to share this negative experience and Priceline's inflexibility- considering the disastrous circumstances in Florida- with everyone I know. Dennise M
