I purchased a TiVo with a $100 rebate offer. I read the directions and double checked everything before mailing off my receipt, my Tivo serial number and the UPC bar code from the Tivo box.

Several weeks later I received a post card in the mail telling me my rebate request could not be “honored” because my UPC was missing. That is a complete lie!!!!!!!!

Of course they choose the UPC because that is the one thing that cannot be resent. Of course I could send them the serial number, or a receipt, because the store gave me 2 copies. TiVo never had any intention of giving me a rebate, it was just a ploy to get me to buy their product.

I am happy with my TiVo but am unhappy that the company would be so dishonest and Fraudulent!!!!
