The discounted cost for these meds at Banfield was $111.07 When I got home I did a quick Internet search and found the meds at a much reduced cost (Prednisone, 6ea, 20mg tablets are available via the Internet for 90 cents vs. Banfields cost of $11.06). For the 4 items that Banfield charged $111.07 for I found available via the Internet for $54.37.

Thus Banfields "discounted cost" is 100% more than what you can get them for via the Internet. In my book, this is usury. I complained to Banfield and was told that they would match the Internet cost on the Frontline Plus, but nothing else.

They would do nothing to reduce the cost on their prescription drugs. So I asked them if their Veterinarians write prescriptions. I was told that, "Yes they do but that there is a $12 per prescription fee." This is unreal. They sell you on the wellness plan via advertising their discounted services and medication fees yet essentially lock you into paying exorbitant fees.

These guys are truly the Enron of the pet care industry. Do yourself and your pet a favor and support your local independent Veterinarian.
