Kenmore refrigerator is a lemon!!!

Dear Sir or Madam, Please allow me to vent over my experience with my local Sears stores.

In 1998 my father in-law purchased a Kenmore refrigerator 19.9 cubic feet, model # 60092 ( and stove) as a house warming gift for my husband and I. ( paid plenty for it too!) This unit lasted us less then 5 yrs. ( with excellent care) When we contacted Sears in Kingston we were told that they would send out a repair person.

I gave them my full address, and detailed directions to my home. An appointment was set up but the repair person never showed up.

I was upset because it had already cost me a full days wages as I had to be home for the repair.

I would like to add that no one contacted me for a cancellation and when I called Sears, I was told that the repair guy had now gone home. They now wanted to set up another appointment!!

I said NO THANK YOU!!! I can't see me wasting any more time and money waiting for someone that may not show up again.

I called another repair person only to be told that this model of refrigerator can not be repaired. ( it is a lemon)

It had several things wrong with it one being a slow leak. As this is a sealed unit there is no way to repair it.

When I complained to Sears I was ignored and given the bum's rush. Not only where they rude to my husband and I but they pretended as if we did not exist!!!

The sad part and most frustrating, is that my father in law died of cancer recently and this fridge has sentimental value to us. We were hoping that we could repair it and have it for many more years.

I will NEVER again purchase ANY major appliance from Sears as they sell garbage and don't stand behind their products.

I purchased another refrigerator ...and you bet it wasn't from SEARS!!!! Fanny
