Filippi's Pizza Grotto Restaurant
I have had two meatball-related incidents at Filippi's (the Mira Mesa branch in San Diego): * In a to-go order, they neglected to include my meatball. Then, they refused to credit me the meatball cost ($1.95). The guy said he'd do it, then lost the paperwork or never did it. When I came in later to get a credit, they looked in their box of credits owed, and since it wasn't there, I was out of luck. Of course, why should they believe me and be out $1.95? * In another to-go order, I asked for a half order of eggplant parmigiana and a side order of meatball. Usually, I get a half order of spaghetti ($4.25) and a side order of meatball ($1.95).
The cost: around $8 for the half order of eggplant parmigiana, but a surprising $4.20 for the side order of meatball. Their explanation: "You had a half order of eggplant parmisiana." Me: So, that's a different meatball than when I get the half order of spaghetti? Girl: No, it's the same meatball. It's just that the meatball costs $4.20 when you get it with the eggplant parmisiana. It costs the $1.95 when you get it with the spaghetti. Makes sense? Not to me. I'd understand a meatball always costing $4.20 better than I understand its costing one cost when it accompanies one type of meal, and another cost when it accompanies another type of meal. Alyse S.
