Bray and Scraf Poor Service- Rcommendation Do Not buy product from them

We went to Bray and Scarf because of the reported good service. In a one year period purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator, Fishel Paykel Washer and Dryer and a Maytag Gemini oven/stove. The results have been:

1. KitchenAid Refrigerator after 6 months needed service. Service man came after 5 Days. We were told that a part was needed which took another 2 weeks to be delivered. When the technician came to install the part his response was this part is not needed and was able to fix by adjusting one part. 3 weeks without a refrigerator.

2. Fishel and Paykel washer control board shorted out, water was in the well with electronics. Diagnosis by the tech rep was that it was installed incorrectly. Bray and Scraf said the best they could do was order the part which would take approximately 3 weeks. We asked for a replacement since it was 3 weeks old, the request was denied by Bray and Scraf. However we did call Fishel and Paykel; there response was an immediate replacement...however the replacement would have to be delivered by Bray and Scraf. Coincidentally it took 3 weeks to deliver the washer even though it was in stock. The statement by tech service was that it was impossible to deliver before then???? 3 1/2 weeks without a washer

3. Maytag Stove- The computer touch panel went out Aug 26,2004; we called for service which could not be scheduled until Aug 30. The problem was diagnosed and part ordered on supposedly Aug 31... we were told once the part came in they would schedule follow up call. After waiting a week we called inquiring as to when the follow up call could be scheduled. We were told the part was on backordered and if we wanted to we could call Maytag... Bad suggestion on their part. I did call Maytag customer service and was told that the part was common and was never in backorder status.

The customer service person provided me with her direct line which I gave to Bray and Scraf customer service. I waited 2-3 days and called back Bray and Scarf and again was told the part was in backorder and when I asked if they had checked, the response was they were not sure. Yes I have Bray and Scraf names and did speak to them when calling back. They were very sorry but they could not do anything.... Hopefully this coming Monday Sept 20 the part will be installed. If it is installed it will be another 3 weeks with out a kitchen appliance

RECOMMENDATION- DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM BRAY AND SCARF UNLESS YOU CAN ARRANGE FROM SERVICE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY
