On 9/7/04, I purchased flooring from Carpet Wagon. The installation began on 9/13/04 and on 9/14/04 the installers left without completing the job because they ran out of materials and did not have floorboards to install.

After numerous phone calls to Ken B, (salesman), and the appointment desk at (818) 239-3086, the installers finally returned on 10/5/04 to install the floorboards/baseboards and finish installing the floor.

The installers moved my furniture into the garage to install the floor and that is where my furniture remained. My refrigerator was left in the middle of my kitchen and the entire household has been in disarray since 9/14/04.

On 10/5/04 they realized that they had brought the WRONG floorboards! The floorboards did not match the cherrywood laminate that they had installed. On 10/7/04, I was told to phone Ken Bradshaw. I did, and he told me to go to the store and pick out the floorboard that I wanted as there is NO matching cherrywood floorboards.

I was also promised a free 6 X 9 throw rug as part of the sales promotion when I purchased the flooring which I have yet to receive.

This has been a nightmare and I don't know what course of action to take against Carpet Wagon and Ken Bradshaw. I feel that one month to complete a job is more than sufficient time.

I also feel that a customer should not be lied to over and over again as to when the installers would be at my home to finish the job. I wasted many days waiting for installers to arrive when both Ken Bradshaw and the appointment desk knew they were never scheduled.

I also feel that one should not be subjected to living in a home with the furniture stored in the garage while waiting for installers to show up for over a month to finish a job that is still not complete!

What should I do at this point?

Respectfully,

H. Perez

I purchased laminate flooring from Carpet Wagon in Huntington Beach (the store is now gone) This turned out to be the ultimate nightmare, the installer left glue all over the kitchen, they didn't complete the job as they had to return for the baseboard moldings but shortly after the floor started warping all down my hallway. It became a safety hazard. The company representative repeatedly lied to me about when repairs would be made. Finally at small claims court, which we prevailed, they were ordered to pay for our floor replacement, but that just became the nightmare phase two as collecting the money became near impossible. Word of advice: find a different company. You may take them to small claims court but be prepared with pictures of the shoddy workmanship and history of missed appointments etc.

Carpet Wagon has tried to contact the consumer who originaly wrote this complaint but there is not contact information. I understand that this is an older complaint and I am sure it has been taken care of and would like it removed form this site. If we could be contacted by the consumer or the company with contact information to ensure that this is complete that would be appreciated.
