Center Mall, Charleston West Virginia On October 5th, 2004, I went to the Town Center Mall in Charleston, WV and into Ritz Camera to have some prints made from my digital camera. It was the worst experience dealing with someone who knew nothing of photography, print, or cameras.

The guy working the front counter said that since I brought my pictures on a memory card that they would print out pixelated, and after he looked at my photos on the screen and commented on the resolution of my camera, he said: "If you want better pictures, you need a BETTER CAMERA." He actually said that I needed a better camera to take better pictures and that 2 mega pixels won't let me achieve good pictures. I spent $300.00 on my camera, which is a Nikon Cool Pix 2500 Digital.

I have had this camera for a few years now and know that it was well worth $300.00. The camera has allowed me to take hundreds of great photos with excellent quality and details. He told me to come back in an hour so I walked around the mall for an hour and came back. I

accidentally went to the wrong counter at the front door and was handing the other salesman my pick up slip when he just looked at me and rudely said "You pick them up at the other counter". The counter that I accidentally went to first says "Pick up your Prints here".I went to the other counter and showed the first guy my pick-up slip and he got my pictures and put them on the counter. I got them out and was immediately surprised at how saturated and horrible these prints were.

I told him they couldn't be used, especially in a gallery showing where people might be inclined to buying them. I also told him that I have printed them out before and even at 16x20 and they were beautiful. He acted like that wasn't possible. My images were at 300 resolution. The only reason I needed them printed out again was because of my other prints are in a different gallery one hour away and are going to be there for a year. After holding up the line for about 5 minutes looking at those horrible prints and telling him how they

couldn't be used, and him peering at me like I'm stupid, I tell him I am not paying for them. He said,

"Well, we did print them out", and "We printed the pictures exactly from the memory card as they appear".

I mean, seriously!! What? I am not paying 10 dollars or more for something like that. The blues in my

photos (winter scenes) were so saturated. These photos have been very popular with a lot of people and are even on Christmas Cards that I sell. I left without my pictures and couldn't tell if he was just acting like that because he really is not

educated on printing or photography or he simply did not like my photos. Who knows? I don't, but I would love an apology or my photos printed out at a good quality. I work part-time at a retail store and am a freelance photographer.

I do not have the cash to be throwing around on these bad photos when I have rent to pay. I also have an Associate Degree in Visual Communications, and have had many classes on print and do not feel that I need coached on what I can and cannot print and how.

I do not know the salesman's name and his name was not on the receipt/pick up slip. I have emailed this complaint to Email User and am expecting a quick response and solution. Thank you for your time. ,Amanda M
