This is a complaint against Verizon and their DSL division. The complaint is from customers Nassoma Lewis and her brother Travis Champagne.

Dear Sirs:

My brother and I work from home and require DSL service to connect to the company we work for. We chose Verizon DSL. Before our recent move to another location, we had the DSL service moved to the new location (The request was made on Oct. 1st, 2004).

We were given a new phone number at the new location, and the phone service was established there even before we actually physically moved. Verizon was aware that we worked from home, yet at the time the order was placed for a move, we were not informed that it would take over two weeks before the DSL line would be operational!

We moved into the new place, hooked up the DSL modem and filters and tried to work. The phone line was fine, we could make phone calls and we could access the internet through our other computer... but the DSL connection for the work-at-home computers did not work.

Verizon told us that DSL service could not be restored until the 19th of October, which means we would not be able to work for more than two weeks, which translates into early termination of employment! Is there anything we can do short of suing Verizon?

Regards,

Nassoma L
