Sears, Asheboro, NC - Being the recipient of a 100.00 American Express gift cheque I went to the local Sears and, after a significant amount of time choosing some items, I waited patiently on line for a considerable period (they had NO help working that evening) to purchase my items.

Being the recipient of a 100.00 American Express gift cheque I went to the local Sears and, after a significant amount of time choosing some items, I waited patiently on line for a considerable period (they had NO help working that evening) to purchase my items. I was informed that they do not accept Amex gift cheques. Ummm..... excuse me- they don't accept CASH???

That's essentially what a gift cheque is- basically a travelers check- but absolutely the same as cash. When I attempted to file my complaint online at Sears.com guess what- they don't have a link or email address for such.

Sears is apparently rather arrogant in that regard, to assume that they are immune to complaints and that someone somewhere wouldn't take issue with them about something (and judging from the mounting number of complaints I see here, they've got plenty of issues).

I promptly took my gift cheque and spent it, in it's entirety, at another store in the mall and I can assure Sears they won't have to worry about me spending anything in their stores ever again. This is the GOOD LIFE??? Not at Sears it ain't!
