On my way to work Friday I had a problem with my car. There was smoke coming from the shifter and I lost the dashboard lights.
Then the car kept going into overdrive by itself. No matter many how many times I pushed the button it popped in and out of overdrive.( the button did not work). The light o/d kept blinking on and off on the dash board. When I finally got to work I called the 800 number for roadside assistance that I purchased with my car. I was told they would call me right back. One hour went by and I called back. The woman was very kind and apologized and said she would send a tow truck. The tow truck then came at 10:30 and arrived at Central Avenue Nissan at 11:30 .
I spoke to Ralph and asked him if I can get a rental car. I explained that I am 60 miles away from home and I am a single mom. He said he could not approve a rental car until he looked at the car. He said to call him back at 1:30. In the mean time I called the 800 number with questions on my policy(warranty) that I had purchased.
The woman (Glenda) assured me I had the best warranty they have. I called Ralph back at 1:30 and he still did not get a chance to look at the car. I was upset and began to explain to him about my situation again. ( Meanwhile I am at work). He said he has to check the car. He said as far as he knows there is nothing wrong with the car. After my phone call at 1:30 I did not hear from anyone. I cannot afford to run out and rent cars.
The reason why I purchased the extended warranty was for a hassle free drive. I don't understand how they can sell a warranty and live up to it. Now I have no car and I had to spend the weekend away from my daughter so I can work. I will not have a car on Monday either. I loved the Nissan sentra. I brag about it all the time. I tell everyone how I wouldn't buy any other car. My boyfriend has the Altima and he is so pleased. I never have any problems with my local dealer they are so kind friendly.
