Re: Symantec Norton Antivirus 2004 Email User I have reformatted two computers and after re-installing Norton Antivirus on each computer, I am refused permission to activate them. I keep getting a message suggesting that they could be pirated and would I like to pay again? I purchased one of them at Radio Shack; I have the disk, the activation sticker and the receipt. The other I bought and downloaded directly from Symantec and I have the receipt email, which includes the activation key. Automated telephone help has not been helpful; furthermore, I’ve been unable to get a live person on the phone. I emailed their piracy division and got an email back with a very detailed form to fill out. I filled it out, once for each of the products I can’t activate and since then I’ve heard nothing. I emailed a reminder after two weeks but got no response. It’s been another two weeks and still silence. Pretty soon it’ll be 2005. Symantec’s unwillingness to help has done nothing but turn a loyal customer into an enemy. As a computer consultant, I often decide what antivirus software to install on a client’s computer. Symantec can say goodbye to many, many purchases per year because, in future, I’ll be avoiding their products altogether. Sincerely, Jim

Jim F
