I went in a Best Buy store and applied for one of their retial credit card back in early September of 2004 to take advantage of their special rate and reward points. Well, I filled out their application and was convinced by the sales associate to check the box for a Household master card, with the assurance that there's no annual fee on both cards.
A few weeks later, I got the Household Mastercard and started using it twice at the beginning of Oct 04'. I went to my mailbox on Oct. 20th. to get new mails and checked and see i f I got a statement from Household but din't find any ( I did find the statement for Best Buy, though) Sensing an odd vibe, I decided on the same day to call Household to find out my account status and was informed that my account was past due and there was a 69 dollars annual fee on top of the From: Message Author (click here to email author) (no email address available)Date: Thursday, 21-Oct-04 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisYES, SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME AND I APPLIED AT THE STATEN ISLAND STORE, SO MISLEADING. THEY CREDITED ME BACK 1/2, BUT I WILL PAY OFF THIS CARD AS NEXT YEAR I WILL GET HIT WITH THE FEE AGAIN.
