Pepboys, Petersburg, VA - On today, 17 Oct 04, my husband went into the Petersburg, VA PEPBOYS to get a flat fixed. Upon them checking his name in the system, it came up with my name (his wife), address, and phone number as having a 1995 Chevy Astro Van having had some repairs done to it.

PEPBOYS Service - What Van?

On today, 17 Oct 04, my husband went into the Petersburg, VA PEPBOYS to get a flat fixed. Upon them checking his name in the system, it came up with my name (his wife), address, and phone number as having a 1995 Chevy Astro Van having had some repairs done to it.

First of all, I don't own an 1995 Astro Van nor do I know of anyone that does. I didn't even know what an Astro Van was. I tried to call to get information about when it was done, what they had done to it. No one could give me information as to what happened or how my name and address was retrieved.

I think that there should have been a receipt given or something that the person getting repairs had to sign. This means that John Doe off the street can come in and smears someones credit and name just by giving them someone else's name and address. I live in the DC area and there aren't any PEPBOYS in DC. I would have to search the VA and MD area to find out what PEPBOYS this was done at. This system should be able to tell me what PEPBOYS was used for them to use a bogus name and address.

I tried calling the Customer Relations/Customer Service with no answer. I also tried calling the operator, but it was busy forever. I need to know what will be done about this in the future as far and anyone being able to use someone's address and name to get their vehicle repaired. I would really like to have a response back so someone could tell me how this happened and why am I the account owner of an Astro Van that I don't know about.
