Mortgage Refinancing - eLoans eLoans is supposed to provide a hassle-free environment to get loan quotes. It is anything but! I filled out their long online application form and submitted it. No sooner than it was submitted than I got a phone call from them. First they wanted a credit card number in case they needed to do an appraisal. I should have stopped right there, but I gave them the number.

Then they connected me to a loan counselor. The first thing he wanted was documentation of my income in order to give me the "best rates". I told him no other loan organization had asked this just to give a rate quote. He argued with me and I told him to cancel the application and hung up. That wasn't the end of it. I next received an email notifying me of a decision on my loan application. I had to go to their website to read it. Rather than it saying "client has cancelled the application", it said "insufficient income"! I've complained to them but they seem to have deaf ears. Hassle-free eLoan is not. Moreover, if they routinely falsify their own internal documents as they did in my case, I would strongly suggest that others avoid them.
