Hi my name is Bob S my complaint is about Walmart not price matching between stores. My daughter bought a Fedders 8000BTU A/C unit at the Walmart in Ledgewood, NJ for 100.00 plus tax. She bought the unit at 7:00p.m. on 08-23-2004. I thought it would be nice to get one for her grandmother since it was remote controlled.

So I asked her if they had any more and she said no. I went to the Walmart in Mount Olive, NJ to see if they had one. They did but the price was 132.87 so I asked to talk to the store manager and he told me there was nothing he could do to match the price of the ledgewood store. Mind you this was at 7:59 p.m. on 08-23-2004 not even an hour later. So when I got home I E-mailed Walmart with my problem. A week went by and no response so I E-mailed them again. Another week went by and not so much as boo.

So I E-mailed them a third time and finally they E-mailed me back saying they were trying to get ahold of us but could not. We have an answering machine , mailing address and an E-mail address which they got all three times. When I read there E-mail and they said it was up to the discretion of each individual store and there was nothing they could do. So I'm now writing to you just to vent some of my frustrations out. Price matching can only be done with store adds (and if the product was in the store add it would have been the same price at every Walmart). So since the item was not in the store add they cannot do a price match. Also, price matching is done within so many miles of the Walmart you are buying the item from (I believe it is 40 miles but I am not sure). So in both situations the Walmart was just following policy.
