Be very wary of ordering from Smartbargains.com. They boast great customer service but they they don't provide it if you have a return. I ordered a rug and returned it well within in the 30 return period. I shipped it insured and had someone signed for it upon delivery. It was received on 8/23/04.
It is now October 11, 2004 and after five phone calls, I still have not received a credit for my return. At first they couldn't locate the rug even though I had the recipient's name and signature at there warehouse, they didn't want to research it and said to call back the following week. Finally after 3 more phone calls I got a hold of a "supervisor" on September 22 stating they found the rug and would be issuing me a credit within 3-5 business days.
I called again today and still no credit. Another "supervisor" again apologized for the inconvenience and said they would issue me a credit and it would appear 3-5 business days on my credit card. She couldn't give me an explanation as to why it has taken almost two months. So, now I have to wait another 3-5 days to see if they lied again.
Really, don't order anything from them if you're not sure if you're going to keep it. They don't handle returns well at all. I also ordered a rug pad but the post office sent it back to them and they received it right away but it also took a month for them to give me a credit back for that as well. I also had to call several times to follow up. I think it's their policy to sit on customers returns.
I will never use Smartbargains.com again.
