This washer shreds and stains clothes! Owning it has been a disaster. Whirlpool has authorized leveler repairs on this washer after we'd owned it less than five months. Now, six months later, the clothes are not just being shredded, but also have black marks on them and bleach marks from where bleach carries over from one load to the next.

The technician this time found pieces of clothing throughout the internal components of the washer! Whirlpool's answer - they'll once again order a leveler package and a U-joint. Because the technicians "guarantee" this will solve the problem, Whirlpool will do nothing else, unless, of course, I report back that hundreds of dollars of clothes are once again being shredded, stained and ruined. I asked for the guarantee in writing, which, of course, I must submit that request, in writing, to their corporate office.

Whirpool was generous in authorizing this second round of repairs, especially since my one-year warranty had expired just a couple of weeks ago! It takes forever to get through on their customer service line(oxymoron there) and, once through, the customer gets no recourse except verbal assurances and commiseration.
