Eddie Bauer car VHS player/ Target

Target – Knoxville ,TN I just found this site and wanted to add to the list of complaints on Target’s store policies. My mother-in-law had purchased a VHS player for our twin girls this past Christmas. She is great about having all her shopping done by October, so of-course by the time January rolls around the 90 days is over to return the item. The box had never been open and in January they had the DVD players on sell. What we wanted to do was upgrade to the DVD model and just exchange. We had our checkbook out to pay the difference. They said no. So then I figured I would just call Eddie Bauer and go around Target. This is what I found out. Just because the name brand is at a store does not mean it was made by them!!! Target brought the rights to use their name and none of the products by Eddie Bauer are protected by them. Thank goodness the product worked, because I tried that too.J I thought if it didn’t work they would surly take it back – not the case at all. I would like to say that every employee and corporate employee that I talked to was very nice and understood. Even gave me a number to call to complain and let the higher ups know that the return policy was just outrageous! The manager at the store I used told me that even when she purchases product there, she brings the product back before 90 days to make sure the warranty on returns is still valid. And the gift receipt – no good after 90 days. OH…..also, I almost forgot, if you are in line and the cashier has to REPRINT a receipt – don’t take it. They don’t count at all! In order for the receipt to be valid – the cashier will need to void and rescan everything to have a receipt that is valid! I AM NOT KIDDING!!!!
