Cingular Wireless / cellular company
Agreeing to go with Cingular Wireless as my carrier was one of the worst mistakes I've made. I previously had Verizon, and although I wasn't always 100% satisfied, I sure miss them now. I was waiting for an important phone call, and it was the final day of the billing cycle. I had sent my payment a week earlier (I have a combined billing plan).
I can understand if postal delivery was delayed due to the holidays, but the last day of the billing cycle Cingular decided to disconnect my service without any warning or notification (technically the bill is not even late yet). I didn't know until someone mentioned to me that they couldn't get through on my phone. I called them up, waited forever on hold, and they still refused to reactivate me until the payment was posted. I have never been late with payments before. I asked the associate why I didn't receive some warning of disconnection and she said, "We can't warn everyone when we are going to disconnect them". Why can't you? Aren't customers important enough?
What happens if the mail is delayed for some reason that is not your fault? I think it is ridiculous the games these large companies play. Maybe they are too big to care about the inconveniences they cause their customers due to their unfeeling attitudes. I sign contracts with these giants, thinking all cellular companies are the same, except for maybe the plans they offer. I guess I was wrong.
