2004 GE Monogram side by side $6000 36 inch refrigerator - purchased a 2004 GE Monogram side by side $6000 36 inch refrigerator in July of this year. We had a problem with the refrigerator side of the unit freezing all of our food within 3 months of our purchase. It took GE 3 weeks to remedy this by installing a piece of equipment that supposedly corrects the problem.

We purchased a 2004 GE Monogram side by side $6000 36 inch refrigerator in July of this year. We had a problem with the refrigerator side of the unit freezing all of our food within 3 months of our purchase. It took GE 3 weeks to remedy this by installing a piece of equipment that supposedly corrects the problem.

The service person said that GE has known about this problem for at least a year. Since the installation, the interior light (which has 6 bulbs) has not worked. The 1st service person that did the installation came in at 6 PM & after installing the equipment ran out the door saying "don't worry about the light, it will come back on within the hour." Which did not happen.

We called GE again, they sent out another service person who worked on the fridge for 2 1/2 hours, could not make the light go on & said he'll have to have another order # to come back out to try a second time to make the light work. So here we sit, in the dark, with a $6000 dollar piece of equipment that may have other problems as well. We are not impressed with GE or their appliances.
