Marshalls Vacaville California - Rude Store Manager and staff (6:30pm), and lack of changing tables and inconvenient fitting rooms for mothers.

Date: Nov. 26, 2004 - Thanksgiving day

I am complaining about my awful thanksgiving experience at Marshalls, Vacaville Califonia. I have never encountered such an incompetent store manager and her staff (6:30pm shift). This particular Marshalls branch has NO CHANGING AREA in their rest room (which needed a code just for the customers to get in, as if) which was so dirty, and the fitting room (disabled section) was clossed for renovation (who renovates a disabled fitting room? plus, i saw it...it was jst filled with clothes, clothes clotes!) so, I asked politely if they can accomodate a private room where i can change my crying baby.

The store manager answered rudely and boastfuly (you know that tone of voice like she's the owner of Marshalls) that it's all they have, and she ordered (take note ordred me, not even suggested) to change my baby in the faucet counter? No way, the faucet counter was dirty and wet, i don't think they clean it. Her staff (the fatest staff ive ever seen) with her ordered (again...ORDERED..not even suggested) me to change my baby in the car...rudely rudely rudely!

No mother would want to change her 2 month old baby in the cold right, so, where is sense there? So, i just left with extreme disapointment and told my mother in law, and husband to drop everything and not shop at any marshalls anymore, I have now the impression that Marshalls hire incompetent managers, who hire incompetent staff and simple mathematics....equals..loss of sales!

I wrote the same complaint directly to your Marshalls.com site hoping you could do something about it. I hope this email reaches the upper management of Marshalls Group of Retailers. If i were you, i wouldn't hire store managers who looks like a WITCH (with an impeccable personality). Please do something about this, i don't want this to happen to other mothers out there.

I work for a Marshalls in Ohio. Just to let you and everyone know that a typical Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Home Goods store is not large enough to require a public restroom, changing tables, or wheelchairs. They do however have to have a handicap changing room. I have gone into stores that did not have changing stations and I have changed my baby on their service desk counters. What are they going to do stop me. I think not. I hope that you do not stop shopping at Marshalls all together. Try shopping at a different location. Who knows. Maybe that store will shut down in no time because of poor managment. That kind of thing happens all of the time.
