Recently, I was contacted by Cablevision that I needed to have a new digital cable box installed in my home because my old box would no longer be supported as of 12/13/2004. I called Cablevision, in the Bronx, spent a half hour on the phone to discuss what new package I will receive and set up an appointment for a technician to come to my house and install my new box.

 

I was told that a technician would be at my home between the hours of 11 am and 2 pm. on Saturday 11/27/2004. At 4:00 pm on 11/27/2004, I called Cablevision to let them know that the technician has not been to my house and to find out what time I should expect him. I was told that my appointment was canceled due to over booking.

 

A COURTESY CALL WAS NOT GIVEN TO ME TO LET ME KNOW THIS. I sat in my house from 11-4 waiting for someone to come that was never coming in the first place. The level of professionalism that I experienced when I called Cablevision was absolutely terrible.

 

The first rep that I spoke to could not be bothered with my problem and could not wait to get me off the phone. He told me that the appointment had been canceled, and that I would need to set up another one. Not even apologizing for the time I wasted waiting at home.

 

I then called back and spoke to a supervisor by the name of Mr. Grimes, who admitted that my appointment was canceled due to over booking and could not tell me why I was not called. I understand that these things happen, I can't for the life of me understand why I was not called and informed of the cancellation. What kind of business do you run?
