Aurora Loan Services, Inc.
I recently read a complaint concerning Aurora Loan Services, Inc. (ALS) and I have a very similar experience to add to the list, which I'll bet is a very long one.
ALS has provided the most inept, erroneous, and frustrating service I have had the misfortune of having to deal with in a long career of dealing with some pretty inept organizations.
They have repeatedly violated the rules governing the rates applicable to my adjustable rate loan(s) with them by attempting to raise rates several times in a single time period. They have provided numerous letters stating that my loan rate will increase from 0.00000% to 0.00000% on some date or that my payment will increase from $0.00 to $0.00.
I have received only one payment coupon with the amount due on my loans and after paying that amount, ALS informed me that "the loan boarded ALS incorrectly" and that amount was incorrect, but never provided any further explanation or the correct amount.
I have corresponded with at least three "Customer Care Representatives" without any resolution of the consistently erroneous information or lack of any information. Although I have an interest only loan, ALS shows the principle being reduced and an incorrect amount being applied to the loan.
I have spent numerous hours trying to resolve the errors in my accounts in written correspondence, but have met with little more than "we'll look into it and get back to you". Telephone contact is a joke.
I have complained to the Federal Trade Commission, but they could only tell me to get a lawyer.
Does anyone out there have any ideas about how to get some satisfaction from this totally incompetent organization?

It's time.. Please let me know. I have had the same unfortunate dealings with them. They lost my original loan application, and have ignored my application for a HAMP modification since March 2009. I am ready to quit paying, although I already have a negative amortization of about $10,000 a year. My home is now worth half of what I owe. I just need a decent 5% loan. I can't get one anywhere even with 700 credit scores. I am ready to quit paying everything, stop playing this game of theirs. I am tired of being so squeezed!!!!! They practice nothing less than unfair loan practices. They lie and cheat to get your money. Their representatives are crude and do not care one bit about their clients. They rather would see you lose your home than help you. They lie with their initial loan documents and everything thereafter. A class action lawsuit is way OVER DUE!!!! I have been ignored, been hung up on, cheated, had charges force-placed on my loan, had my loan escrowed when it was not an escrow account, my checks kept past the due date, then charged late fees, and on and on. Not to mention no satisfaction with their customer service. I became so angry, I did a web search, made some phone calls and finally found where to file complaints. I then proceeded to do so. Although the complaint process took some finagling to find email addresses, and no one answered the telephones, after leaving email and voice messages, I did receive both return emails and telephone calls. Of course, I had to email the director before I actually had people jumping around to respond! I copied and pasted many of the complaints I found online. It would appear in speaking to them that very few people have actually called the governing agency and filed complaints! The agency in charge of overseeing Savings and Loan institutions, including Aurora, is Office of Thrift Supervision, an arm of the Treasury Department. I would suggest everyone with a complaint send an email or two directly to them. Their website is www.ots.treas.gov and everyone to contact is listed there. I would start with the ombudsman and your regional director.
