pyrex 9x12 - started makin gravy in the small white pyrex 9x12 on a minimum setting on our stove and when it was done we set it on a towel and I went to put a spoon in it and as I placed the spoon in gently and before it touched the bottom it exploded.

expolding pyrex dish

to whom it concerns:

I live in Edmonton, Alberta,Canada and i have a issue with your pyrex dishes I "used" to have two dishes until one night i had guests over and we made chicken ((not in the dish, so it was a cold dish)) and dinner was almost done so we started makin gravy in the small white pyrex 9x12 on a minimum setting on our stove and when it was done we set it on a towel and I went to put a spoon in it and as I placed the spoon in gently and before it touched the bottom it exploded.

The only thing that saved me from scalding was the towel it was on I had the towel protectin most of my stomach were the gravy poured, when this dish exploded it did so from the middle out there was no saving our gravy because of the little peices of glass so we made another substitute gravy and had our dinner.

Two weeks later...

We had a newer pyrex from a friend that bought it from a store they gave it to as a gift and again we thought a newer pyrex 9x12 blue, should be o-k we did the same thing minimum setting took it off let it cool for a moment but before we could pour it into a bowl it exploded from the middle we didnt get no warning and we lost the gravy again we didnt make more again we were upset and hungry, it was a bigger mess and a small cut only from the clean up.

So in conclusion something is wrong with your pyrex dishes where they are not safe unless food is completely cooled down and don't put them on stoves I was informed by only a few people who have pyrex dishes and it hasn't happened too them but they are taking precautions as I think you should do

too

thank you

sincerly
