Hello -

We have been receiving bills from EarthLink addressed to our address with no name. These bills say that we will be reported to a collection agency.

We never ordered EarthLink, and did not even know what it was untill we called to find out what they were billing us for.

When we tried to clear up the misunderstanding, we were told that they could not help us unless we verified the last 4 digits of our credit card number.

We don't have a credit card with the expiration date they gave us.

They refused to help us or even give us information so that we could ascertain whether or not it was our name they were billing.

My question is, can this affect our credit rating, even if we know nothing about it?

Please email us if you are able to help, or have heard of this happening to others. It smacks of a scam or internet fraud to me.
