Amazon.com - While trying to cancel an item from Amazon.com, they are insisting that their computer cannot delete an item from my order even though I have been trying to do so for a month now. They are telling me to let it ship and then refuse the entire order of many X-mas gifts.

While trying to cancel an item from Amazon.com, they are insisting that their computer cannot delete an item from my order even though I have been trying to do so for a month now. They are telling me to let it ship and then refuse the entire order of many X-mas gifts.

 

I sent this final message to them: This is unexcusable that a company can not cancel a shipment before it ships. I believe that my credit card company could find it illegal that you charge me for an item that I have tried in good faith to cancel.

 

Amazon.com is a leader in internet customer service and there is no excuse for making me send back an entire shipment because you cannot cancel one item. I paid for this shipment with a gift certificate and do not want to lose the $100 certificate that was paid for previously. Here is what they are saying:

As my colleague previously mentioned, a system error is preventing you from cancelling this item. Unfortunately, we are not able to cancel the item on our end either. It is likely this item will ship

to you. You may refuse this shipment when it arrives. Refusing the shipment allows you to return it without having to arrange for return shipping. Matt & Stephanie S

Are you too lazy to tell a UPS delivery person "I refuse this please send it back" duh it's not brain surgery..refuse the damn thing and move on!
