Blown head gasket, warning/seat-belt-type alarm dinging which wouldnt go away, and interior lights which would come on on their own, stay lit hours after exiting, then turn off hours later. The gasket is a common problem with the larger engine according to information on the internet.
Older vehicles received assistance from Ford for this, but Ford had not seen fit to do this for the 97s. I finally donated it to charity in 2003, paid off $4000 I still owed on the useless vehicle, and bought a new Kia Sedona.
