Champion Battery - K-Mart, Waveland, MS - went dead - won't hold a charge

Hi I am Lester Wiese Sr

On 2/20/02 I purchased a champion battery at K-Mart in Waveland, Ms.

Late in April 2004 it went dead and wouldn't hold a charge.

On May 3 /04 I returned battery to store.

On top of battery the warrant states 0/24 Mos. FREE warranty.

24/36 Mos. $19.99 charge.

36/48 Mos. $37.99 charge.

I went and got replacement battery and expected to pay $19.99 plus tax.

The lady at servicedesk put in wrong date and wanted $37.99 plus tax.

Twice I showed her the printed label on battery, also another lady behind counter pointed out she was wrong and agreed with me.

Then she got a phone call and kept us all waiting several min.

After a heated discussion she said that she is the MGR. and doesn't make mistakes.

Finally I just dropped a $20.00 and a$1.00 on counter and told her I was leaving because I was getting very upset.

She thrented to call the law if I left without a receipt.

I told her I would be outside waiting be the car and call the law because I am sure the officer will agree with me.

I went out and stood around about 15 to 20 min. waiting.

Finally no law so left.

Wal Mart has built a new supercenter about a mile away and they once again get all my business.

I need to replace three batteries in my RV and Wal Mart gets the business.

Les
