AfterHours Formal Wear

 

I have two complaints.

 

1. The yellow tag that hangs on the tuxedo bag specifies a pickup date and a week ending date. The week ending date mislead us into believing we had until 4:00 on that date to return the tuxedo. I can't think of another purpose for that date to be there -- it's of no value to the consumer. Our actual paperwork had the pickup date scribbled over. Apparently the top/most recent scribble was the actual due back date, but, since the date on the yellow bag tag was also on the blue paper we received, we assumed we had until that "week ending" date to return the tuxedo.

 

2. Secondly, our pants had a quarter-size spaghetti sauce stain on the crotch. Waiving the late fee doesn't make up for it to me. We paid $125.99 for the convenience of one stop shopping. We wouldn't have accepted dirty pants for a $10 discount. We wouldn't have gone to different places for the different pieces. We wanted EVERYTHING ready and perfect at the same place at the same time. That is why we were willing to pay $125.99.

 

I would like a complete refund or an entirely free rental of equal value for our next event. I'll give you 10 days to respond before I spread the word about my bad experience with AfterHours. If you respond in a fair manner, I will be equally vocal about my satisfaction. My husband is a high school teacher. I plan to be the senior class advisor next year.

 

We have a son who will require tuxedos for his wedding and senior prom. I sit in the bleachers with other parents at sporting events and chat with other parents of young men who are likely to need tuxedos in their near futures. Is $125.99 worth the ill will of this dissatisfied customer?
