Mitsubishi Motors Credit of America (Lessee or Buyer Beware)
During the last four (4) months I have made numerous exhaustive attempts to settle an account with Mitsubishi Motors Credit of America, but to no avail. The settlement process has been impeded due to the unreasonable conduct of the representatives The following is a summary of the events that have taken place: 1. First and foremost, I have been a loyal patron of the Mitsubishi Motors product line since 1997. 2. Due to a poor economy, I became involuntarily unemployed. 3. During this time, I made every good faith effort to make payments and work with Mitsubishi regarding payments on this account. These efforts failed due to the outright refusal of MMCAs representatives to work with me. 4. A wrongful repossession attempt resulted. It was wrongful in that Mitsubishi had refused me a right to cure the arrearage. This is a right I am entitled to under the terms of my lease, and the refusal to grant me this right was a violation of The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. 5. I retained the services of an attorney to insure that I received my right to cure. 6. I complied with all of Mitsubishis cure requirements, including payment of all arrearages, This payment was made by Western Union. 7. I have been making timely monthly payments since August 2003. The additional payments total $4,446.99. The total paid to MMCA, including the wire transfer, is $7,288.00 to date. 8. Despite the fact that I still possess the vehicle and continue to make payments, the account has been reported to all (3) credit bureaus as a PROFIT & LOSS WRITEOFF.
