calls for a collection company about friend's bill

We are getting phone calls on our home phone and on my wife's cell phone regarding a bill on our friend's account, who lives 100 miles away. We have asked them to quit calling us, but yesterday they called our home twice, and the cell once.

They obviously have gotten our numbers from our friend's bill. legal?? The first time they called we advised our friend, and she called them to advise them, the bill has been paid. The number from which they call, 818-879-2545, gives a busy signal constantly, so we can't call them to speak to someone in charge.

The call shows up to be from Agoura, Ca. I don't want to give ours or her phone number, because of the privacy aspect but if you will please e-mail me back with a contact number, I will call you with the details. I can't imagine that Sprint approves of these tactics, and I need you to get the calls stopped, or I will seek help from our Public Service Commission or some other legal source. Thanks
