Continental Promotions, d/b/a rebatestatus.com has yet again screwed up a rebate of mine. I submitted full documentation for a rebate on a Norton Systemworks Competitive upgrade, including an emailed confirmation of a past electronic purchase of a competing product--as specifically permitted by the rebate offer. I checked the rebate status, and the rebate was rejected: "We did not receive an original CD, diskette, title page of manual or confirmation e-mail from a previous version of Symantec, Norton, McAfee or Intego software product with your request." The confirmation was *stapled* to the rebate form. I can only assume that this was a calculated attempt to fraudulently void a valid rebate, as there was no way they could have missed the confirmation material.
