Account at e-Bay
To Whom it May Concern:
For the past two years I have had an account at eBay on their website. About 10 days ago I received a letter pretending to be from eBay, asking about social security number, my eBay account amongst other things. I sent this letter, fearing it might not be from eBay, to the eBay spam section.
They notified me that the forwarded letter was indeed a fake and not from eBay. eBay immediately blocked my account and I was not permitted to bid on anything. I had already taken precautions and changed my password to my account. My account was never compromised. For the last week eBay has given me the runaround about reinstating my account.
Their customer service stinks. One gets formletter after formletter, but nothing is ever resolved. I have told eBay several times, that I had changed my password right away and my account had not been compromised. But there is no one on the other end at eBay to listen to the consumer. My advice: Never send a letter you think might be spam to eBay, but just simply change your password. That way eBay won't block your account.
